Ok, so everybody knows they’ve got a really big payroll, but this is just throwing it in our faces. Or rather, it’s throwing it in their own faces. Actually, it’s throwing somebody else’s payroll data in the street. Which is where the analogy falls apart.
Nevertheless: It turns out that overzealous Yankee fans, during the tickertape parade, ran out of the proverbial “ticker tape” and just started using whatever was convenient. Yep – that includes pay stubs, personal information, bank documents, law memos, and other assorted sensitive data.
Next time I hear something like “America’s prosperity in the 21st century will depend on cyber security“, I’m gonna kick somebody in the ass.
